Red Room

In our Red Room we have a maximum of 16 children, on a 1 to 4 ratio, enabling the staff to fulfil the needs of all the children within the room.  We take children from 2 to 3 years and support them with the transition to the Blue Room.

In the Red Room they follow an age appropriate routine of the day which consists of:

  • Registration
  • Free play
  • Snack and meal times
  • Planned indoor and outdoor activities
  • Key worker group time
  • Singing time, reflection and evaluation

Although this routine is in place, it can be adapted or diverted from occasionally to meet the needs and interests of the children.

We operate a Key Person System.  Each member of staff has responsibility for certain children and each child has one special adult with whom they relate.  This can make settling into the nursery much easier.  The Key Person is responsible for tailoring the groups curriculum to the unique needs of each individual child. This is done by completing observation records 3 times a week.

Every member of staff will work with every child within the setting to ensure that full supportive learning is completed and achieved.

    The Room Leader's voice.....

In Red Room we provide a happy, loving environment where the children can have fun exploring all areas and gaining the independence they need.  My team and I also feel that listening to a child's voice and what they like to do is the best way for them to succeed and learn, most importantly getting them ready to enjoy another adventure in Blue Room.

A parents voice...

"Georgianna is an only child so finding her a nursery to attend once she turned two was a must in our minds for her personal development. We only visited abc and just knew instinctively that she'd be happy here. We wern't wrong! Eight months on, Georgianna is a more confident little girl who's speech, learning and interaction with children of her own age, is constantly blossoming and a joy to be witnessing. abc staff are wonderful. Very attentive to each child and we can't recommend them enough."
