South Hills Nursery School in Hindon

Nursery Class (2-5 yrs)

Our Nursery is located in a mobile classroom in the beautiful village of Hindon behind the local school.  We take children from the ages of two to rising fives.   We believe that children learn through each other and all the ages are in the one mobile classroom.

We have lots of child-initiated play where they can explore the setting and use the wide range of resources we have.   We also have adult-led activities where we learn about shapes, numbers and engage in letter and sound activities.  Our children love being creative and getting very messy.  We love exploring with gloop to see how it changes from hard to soft.  With shaving foam the children engage in mark-making and explore textures, while the older children can begin to form letters.

Our children love exploring outside and we have recently taken on an allotment in the village of Hindon.  The children like to dig in our garden and we are growing our own fruit and vegetables.   We often take the children into the local community to visit the shop, park and the church.   The children really enjoy going to the woods which they have named “The Gruffalo Woods”.

We promote being healthy and we have physical exercise everyday inside and outside.  We also provide a healthy lunch from Hindon School or you can provide a healthy lunch box for your child.   We also provide two healthy snacks a day for the children and milk and water are always available.

We have an open door policy so if you would like to come and see us, we would love to welcome you!
